Thrive Behaviour Support & Therapies offers evidence-based, person-centred support focused on capacity building to enhance independence and improve quality of life. Our approach prioritises dignity and safety, aligning with the NDIS commitment to helping individuals develop skills that reduce reliance on formal support

Thrive delivers high-quality Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) that is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and focused on long-term skill development rather than mere compliance. Our approach to Positive Behaviour Support includes: Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA) to understand the reasons behind behaviours, not just the behaviours themselves; the development of Behaviour Support Plans that are person-centred, strengths-based, and easy for support teams to implement; strategies to reduce or eliminate restrictive practices in line with the NDIS (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules 2018; collaboration with families, support workers, schools, and allied health professionals to ensure consistent implementation; and capacity building support to develop communication, emotional regulation, and daily living skills. Our goal is not to control behaviour, but to support individuals to feel safe, understood, and confident—creating meaningful and sustainable change.

Thrive provides Community Access that is purposeful, respectful, and focused on building real-world skills through Capacity Building initiatives. This support includes: community participation, social interaction, and routine-building; independent life skills such as shopping, planning, transport, and communication; as well as fostering confidence, emotional regulation, and decision-making in everyday settings.
In line with the principles of the NDIS, Thrive participants have the opportunity to engage in Positive Behaviour Support through our partnership with CrossFit Happy during their support sessions at no cost. This collaboration offers a safe and inclusive environment where participants can:
- Build physical strength, coordination, and body awareness
- Develop routine, resilience, motivation, and self-esteem
- Engage socially in a community setting rather than a clinical one
This approach reflects the core intention of the NDIS: to increase functional independence, reduce reliance on paid supports, and promote meaningful participation in everyday life.

Improves mobility, strength, and safe physical participation in everyday activities while promoting capacity building through the NDIS.

We help individuals build their capacity by developing functional communication skills and ensuring safe mealtimes through NDIS support. Key areas of focus include: Speech, language and social communication, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and mealtime and swallowing support.
Why Thrive: Our communication supports are aligned with positive behaviour support strategies to reduce frustration, enhance autonomy, and ensure that families and support workers know how to effectively implement them.
